I first heard of a dog called Rover in Roverandom by J.R.R Tolkein, but this article is not a book review about a mobile app called Rover that connects dog walkers with dog parents. The numbers
To put things into perspective (and numbers), pet sitting is a growing industry that generated over $332 million in 2014 and will be worth over $5b by 2027 at a CAGR of 8.7%. Rover uses its commission to improve the website and app, expand its Trust and Safety team for 24×7 emergency support and create an online repository for dog sitters and parents.
